We were inspired by an inscription on an old bridge in Vienna for our new programme "... lost in transition ...":

remember well those earnest words,
from the hour, from the place
an inner craving drives you
death is life, dying a gate
everything is mere transition

The compositions by Palestrina, Byrd, de Monte, Rihm, or Bikkembergs heard in this concert, set situations in life to music whereby time has come to a standstill, in which the world as it was, has ceased to exist and in which new and unknown aspects have not yet come into existence. Situations in which man believes himself to be lost in a strange world or seems to be lost between the worlds, sitting between all stools...
