Daarler Vocal Consort
“We can, in multiple respects, award the highest distinction to this CD which never ceases to capture and inspire us.”
Pierre Schwickerath in the magazine "Pizzicato"
Daarle - 'Valley'. That is what the people of Saarbrücken call their 'village within the town', the quarter of St. Arnual.
At the beginning of 2008, eight members of the KammerChor Saarbrücken came together to form an ensemble of soloists, who are now performing in this formation under the name of Daarler Vocal Consort.
Highlights have been concert tours to Sardinia, Spain and Sankt Blasien in the Black Forest, where the ensemble performed their own vocal improvisations along with other works in the famous cathedral. In 2010, the ensemble was presented with the Pizzicato Excellentia Award for their first CD "Zwischen Himmel und Erde".
Since September 2011, the ensemble has been performing as a sextett:
Yvonne Zimmer (Soprano) – Susanne Wagenmann (Mezzo) – Marita Grasmück (Alto) –
Helmut Winkler (Tenor) – Georg Grün (Baritone) – Stefan Paul (Bass)
